About the event
This is an opportunity to meet other community groups and learn from examples, projects, plans and ideas that can support and inspire you in transforming each of your community spaces into an edible, biodiverse space - full of fruits, wildlife, learning and community connection.
We now have 25 interested community groups, gardens and schools, mostly in areas with the lowest tree cover. Each group is working at their own pace - some of you have already decided where it will be, mapped the plants and trees you already have or started to think of designs for the space.
A food forest is a layered, self-sustaining growing space inspired by natural woodland ecosystems — designed to produce food, support pollinators. And the good news is.... it becomes easier and easier to care for over time.
